How we treat your information.

Balouch is an independent couture house in Melbourne. We collect only the personal information we need to answer your enquiry, arrange a fitting, complete an order or keep you informed about the house, and we handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Enquiries and appointments. Your name, email address, contact number, preferred dates and anything you choose to tell us about the occasion. This is sent to the atelier by email so we can reply.
- Orders. Checkout is handled by Shopify, which collects your delivery address and payment details under its own privacy policy. We do not see or store your card number.
- Event registrations and advertising. When you register interest in an event through a form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta shares with us the details you enter, typically your name, mobile number, email address and postal address. We use these to confirm your place, send your invitation and follow up about the event.
- Site and advertising analytics. We may use Meta’s pixel and similar tools to understand how people find the house and whether our advertising is working. These tools use cookies and collect technical information such as the pages you visit and the device you use. They do not give us your name unless you have provided it to us separately.
How we use it
- To respond to you and arrange viewings, fittings and commissions.
- To fulfil and support an order.
- To manage an event you have registered for, including confirmations and reminders.
- To tell you about future collections, events and appointments, where you have agreed to hear from us. You can opt out at any time by replying to a message or writing to us.
- To measure and improve our advertising.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run the house: Shopify for orders and payments, our email provider for enquiries, and Meta for advertising and event registration. Each handles your information under its own privacy policy. Where we hold your details for event follow-up, they are seen only by the atelier team.
How long we keep it
Enquiry and appointment details are kept for as long as we are in conversation with you and for a reasonable period afterwards. Order records are kept as required by Australian tax law. Event registrations are kept until the event and any follow-up are complete, unless you have agreed to hear from us afterwards.
Your choices
- You may ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it.
- You may ask us to delete your details, and we will unless we are required to keep them.
- You may opt out of messages from the house at any time.
- You can limit advertising cookies through your browser settings and your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences.
